About EVRate
India's EV owners deserve to know the real price before they plug in.
Every CPO has an app. Not one of them will show you a competitor's price. EVRate does — neutrally, with verified evidence, for every car on Indian roads. We exist because the market never will fix this itself.
Our origin
Born from a ₹22/kWh mistake that should never have happened.
A Tata Nexon EV owner in Bengaluru paid ₹22/kWh at a DC charger because he didn't know a station 700 metres away was charging ₹16/kWh. He had five charging apps on his phone. None showed him the comparison.
Multiply that across millions of Indian EV owners — across a country where tariffs differ by network, connector type, time of day, and membership status — and you have a structural problem no incumbent is incentivised to fix.
EVRate can. That's our entire reason for existing.
Not a CPO. Not a charging app. A neutral data platform.
India's charging networks have electrified highways and built real infrastructure. We admire what they've built.
But the moment you own chargers, you have a conflict of interest — showing a user that a competitor is cheaper is structurally impossible for a CPO.
EVRate owns zero chargers. We're incentivised by one thing only: price truth. That structural independence isn't a gap in our model — it is the whole model.
Structural neutrality
We own no chargers. No CPO pays us to rank higher. No one can buy their way to the top of compare.
Evidence labels
Every price shows where the number came from. You always know how confident to be.
India-native pricing
Energy + time + session + parking + taxes + membership — we model all of it, not just the headline ₹/kWh.
Community-verified
Every bill upload from an EV owner hardens our dataset. Our users are co-investigators.
The EVRate confidence ladder
Every price carries one of five evidence tiers — you always know what you're looking at.
Station catalogued. Price not yet confirmed from any source.
Modelled from CPO public tariff sheets and network averages.
Real users uploaded real bills from this station. Cross-checked.
CPO shared data directly under an agreement with EVRate.
Gold standard — cross-confirmed from multiple independent sources.
Three things we won't compromise on.
Price truth is a public good.
Fuel prices are visible at every pump. EV charging prices should be just as transparent — a live, crowd-powered, evidence-graded index of every public charger in India.
Neutrality is earned, not claimed.
We demonstrate it structurally — owning no chargers, taking no money from CPOs for rankings, and showing competitor prices your own CPO's app never will.
EV owners are smart. Treat them that way.
They made a considered decision to go electric. They deserve data, not just a map — confidence labels, methodology, and honest “we don't know yet” markers.
The neutral price truth.
Compare every public EV charger in India — before you plug in. Free, always, for every EV owner.
